Some time ago now, I was searching for some information on the great H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu mythos, and found a preview of an upcoming game called Call of Cthulhu - Dark Corners Of The Earth by Headfirst Productions. The graphics and physics seemed very fine indeed and, as you do, I went off and told other fans to go and have a look. Unfortunately I couldn't remember the site where I had found the info but thought they'll find it with a quick search. I was wrong. There seemed to be no information available at all. I knew the 3D engine they were using was called Havok (well worth a look) and from there found a link to Headfirst. Alas their site about the game was not yet ready, and so I decided to put this page together.
Here are some movies demonstrating the well captured lovecraftian atmospherics and the excellent use of the Havok engine.
Some classic Lovecraft insanity in this movie. Note particularly, the way the player is trying to shake off the hallucinations. The hand bit reminds me of the scene in Up in Smoke where Chong asks Cheech how many fingers he is holding up.
The interaction with the world in this one looks really impressive. Why does he shoot the bloke he saves in the leg though? I will have to clarify this with Headfirst.

Well ... erm ... yes. Your guess is as good as mine as concerns the goings on in this sequence. I think possibly this is the mythical 'shit creek'.
